About Koh Tao:

Koh Tao translates as Turtle Island, because in the past the waters teemed with sea turtles. Nowadays they have mainly moved on to new breeding grounds since travelers and tourists enjoy Koh Tao's beaches instead. Little more than 21 km in size, it is located about 70 km east of the coastline between Suratthani and Chumphon, in the Gulf of Thailand. 

 Koh Tao (thailand) is a  small tropical island with incredible snorkeling and scuba diving thanks to it's colorful coral reefs, where divers often meet whale sharks and various of other incredible underwater creatures. A rich jungle in the centre and surrounded by remarkably quiet, palm tree laced beaches. Here you can find everything that possible for an amazing vacations: various of sports and underwater activities, beautiful white sand beaches, lots of restaurants and beach-bars. In other words, you will never get bored here!

The season lasts in Koh Tao (thailand) during all the year, however November is the a rain season, during which all the main shops here are closed. Take it in consideration while planning your trip.

How to come to Koh Tao (Thailand)?

From Bangkok you will have to come to Chumpon first. That you can do by train, bus or taking a flight. And from Chumpon to Koh Tao twice a day there are scheduled speed boats. 

If you are traveling from Bangkok(Thailand), than in any travel agencies you can buy package transfer to Koh Tao, which includes bus to Chumpon (about 8 hours) and speed boat from Chumpon to Koh Tao (2 hours). We usually take Lomprayah company package, which costs around 1000 TBH. Both bus and boat are very comfortable and the whole trip flies very fast)).

If you are planning to go by train, than it can take longer to get to Chumpon, but you can have a sleeping seating though. From Chumpon you will also have to take a speed boat to Koh Tao. Unlike bus, train can arrive to Chumpon not according to the boats schedule.

If you are traveling from Koh Samui, than it's much easier! From there you can take a speed boat to Koh Tao, which takes about an hour and scheduled twice a day early in the morning and in the afternoon.
